Leslie Helpert is a complete creative artist, a longtime composer/performer, vocal coach, ghost writer, project director, healer, educator and creator of the Therapeutic Vocal Performance Technique, the science of vocal embodiment, which she has inspirationally shared with individuals, groups and initiatives worldwide. Helpert holds a Master's degree in performance and production from The Berklee College of Music, with extensive studies in holistic performance endurance, earth-based traditional wisdom and biomimetic systems. Having recorded six records on international labels, she has lent her music voice to Motown/Universal Records, Sundance Films, the TED organization and has written nearly 1000 lyrical songs for commercial and independent release. Helpert was the chosen composer of Bermuda (2008) and the Danish Art Council elect musical resident of Copenhagen (2013) and lived and worked in Europe from 2008-2015. Helpert is a music supervisor for media and film-music as well as a voiceover specialist and score-composer. For over 15 years Helpert has been a certified yoga teacher and integrates this work into her music teaching modality and interpersonal coaching work, leading health and wellness programs. She is home-based in New York City, offering an exclusive class of sound healing she calls The Vocal Lab at The Well, the top wellness center in Manhattan. She works with clients in realms of finessing performance, evaluating life design, deepening embodiment, accessing breath, coming-to-voice and therapeutically-oriented purposes. She has worked with top film-makers, award-winning scientists, actors and authors to help craft their most profound expressions. She supports the recovery of people suffering from chronic physiological conditions fostering systemic wellness through the power of sound.
